The Terre Haute International Airport (THIA) is located approximately three miles east of the main street business district of the City of Terre Haute.  Terre Haute International Airport offers the largest air transportation facility in West-Central Indiana and East-Central Illinois and is easily accessible from these locations.  Interstate Highway 70 runs adjacent to portions of the airport property and is accessible via State Road 40 and State Road 46.

The Terre Haute International Airport has the fourth longest runway (9,020 feet) in the state of Indiana with two runways capable of handling the largest military and civilian aircraft.  Aircraft fuel, servicing and maintenance is available on the field.  Federal Aviation Administration personnel and equipment are available at THIA. The airport is open 24/7 year-round and air traffic control services are provided around the clock.  Law enforcement personnel are on duty full-time.  Aircraft fueling personnel are on site and available after-hours on demand. THIA could also provide FTZ (Foreign Trade Zone) benefits via INzone positioned at Indianapolis Internatioal Airport.

Airport Development Zone
The Indiana General Assembly has designated the area around Terre Haute International Airport as an Airport Development Zone to encourage development of the area primarily for airport-related businesses. Businesses locating in and investing in the zone receive tax credits similar to those available in an Urban Enterprise Zone. In addition, the Airport Authority is permitted to use tax allocation financing to pay for public infrastructure to support business activity in the zone. The Airport Development Zone encompasses 5,070 acres and includes the 180-acre Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, South Campus-Certified Technology Park.

Indiana's largest airport, the Indianapolis International Airport, is the hub  for aviation.  Located just 60-minutes from downtown Terre Haute off Interstate Highway 70, Indianapolis International Airport provides both passenger and cargo services.  The airport handles over 8.5 million passengers annually and is served by 29 airlines. In 2008, the airport completed a $1 billion dollar expansion which included interstate improvement and construction of a new terminal.

Sky King Airport
Sky King Airport, a privately owned facility with remote runway lighting and a beacon, offers two runways, the longer of which is 3,600 feet.
