Transportation/Infrastructure

Overview

Indiana has one distinct advantage over most states, its location. Indiana contains 14-interstate highways, 117 public airports, 564 private airports, 4,500 miles of public railroad and three-public ports with access to both major inland waterways-the only such port system in the United States.

And Terre Haute/Vigo County could not be better positioned from a transportation perspective.  We are a leader in planning for future needs including telecommunications, electric utilities and surface transportation improvements to accomodate the ever rising supply-chain managemnet requirements.

Terre Haute is situated on Interstate-70 (east/west) and US Highway 41 (north/south). Centered in America's industrial, distribution and transportation heartland, Terre Haute occupies 26 square miles in Vigo County along the eastern bank of the Wabash River in extreme west-central Indiana.

Terre Haute/Vigo County offers an excellent network of transportation facilities, assuring business and industry ready access to global and domestic suppliers and markets.

Terre Haute/Vigo County, Indiana is place where businesses and families grow big and strong.
