Boral to Build New Clay Brick Plant in Terre Haute, Indiana
Boral Limited has announced that it will invest US$55 million to build a new clay brick plant in Terre Haute, Indiana.

Terre Haute, IN—Boral Bricks is the largest manufacturer and distributor of clay brick in the United States. This investment will increase Boral’s overall clay brick manufacturing capacity in the USA by around 7% and demonstrates Boral’s commitment to better serving the important Midwest markets.

$12 Million Project Will Replace Former Terre Haute House
Terre Haute, IN—Representatives of the Terre Haute Economic Development Corporation joined principals of Dora Brothers Hospitality Corporation in announcing the development of a new Hilton Garden Inn Hotel in Downtown Terre Haute. The new facility will be known as the "Hilton Garden Inn , Terre Haute House" and will be located in downtown Terre Haute at the northeast corner of 7th Street and Wabash Avenue (U.S. Highway 40), the original "Crossroads of America".

Build It and They Will Come
Terre Haute, IN—With an eye on economic growth, Garmong Developments Company, LLC, the real estate arm of Garmong Construction Services, is working in conjunction with the Vigo County Commissioners, the Vigo County Redevelopment Commission and the Terre Haute Economic Development Corporation to construct an 86,000 square-foot manufacturing-specific speculative building in the Vigo County Industrial Park.

Cinergy/PSI Awards $10,000 to the
Terre Haute Economic Development Corporation

Terre Haute, IN—The Cinergy/PSI Community Growth Partnership Grant Program has awarded a $ 10,000 grant to the Terre Haute Economic Development Corporation. The grant will help fund a master plan study regarding a proposed I-70 interchange at Tabertown Road, including potential development sites. Vigo County is providing $ 15,000 as local matching funds. The total cost of the study project is $ 25,000.

Terre Haute House Building, Fort Harrison Savings Building and Bement-Rea Building
On October 14, 2004, at the Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Meeting gala, Mayor Kevin Burke announced that the City of Terre Haute, through its Redevelopment Department, had been granted an option to purchase the Terre Haute House, Fort Harrison Savings and Bement-Rea buildings by the buildings’ owner. Specifically, Mayor Burke stated that the City had taken this step in an effort to effectuate the redevelopment of the buildings and/or the parcels on which they stand in order to bring closure to the 30 plus years of speculation and uncertainty that have surrounded the structures.
