Terre Haute House Building, Fort Harrison Savings Building and Bement-Rea Building

On October 14, 2004, at the Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Meeting gala, Mayor Kevin Burke announced that the City of Terre Haute, through its Redevelopment Department, had been granted an option to purchase the Terre Haute House, Fort Harrison Savings and Bement-Rea buildings by the buildings’ owner. Specifically, Mayor Burke stated that the City had taken this step in an effort to effectuate the redevelopment of the buildings and/or the parcels on which they stand in order to bring closure to the 30 plus years of speculation and uncertainty that have surrounded the structures. Incentives

The Terre Haute Economic Development Corporation works closely with local and state officials to develop customized packages that meet the needs of business and the interests of the community.  The scope of project incentives is based on number and type of new jobs created or retained in Indiana, and new capital investments made in the community.
